Against the odds and numbers in attendance we had a great meeting. Doug got held up by BC Ferries and only made it to the venue towards 19:30, but in the end we had a long presentation that all of us thoroughly enjoyed. Wicket is certainly different. It seems to manage to strike and interesting compromise between power and complexity is definitely worth a look. Doug has kindly agreed to be available for questions (doug@dougbateman.net) and Adib Sakali is willing to provide a beta release of a training material for Wicket to anybody interested as well. The presentation was based on that training material and certainly have us a good primer.
Before Dougs arrival we had various conversations about embedded Java and a few other topics
After the presentation we raffled of the IntelliJ license to Jianping Roth and gave away the T-shirts and the book as well. Everybody got something out of the meeting. Maybe you should come next time
Please email Adib if you want to the a copy of the training material about Wicket at
