Hi there - is this a yearly event? If so, do you have updates for the past 2 years? Sounds like a fun time :)

Thanks!

With only eight attendees the meeting was not really busy. That did not hold any of us back and we spent well beyond 2 hours in a mixture of very interactive presentation and open discussion. All of use got a lot out of it including Sandeep getting a few feature requests for Heroku. Everyone seems to have been really impressed with the simplicity and power of Heroku and is probably going to give it a try since the first node is free forever anyway ;-)

And looking at the Play framework we could see why there is a bunch of buzz around it. It seems to bring Grails/Rails like simplicity to Java and with the upcoming 2x release to Scala as well. Watch this one..

A very good overall session on AWS tools and a solid dive deep into areas of architecture, security and deployment in the cloud.
Matt covered some general principals of cloud architectures and how it differs from some traditional web architectures, and the appropriate AWS tools for implementing it in his first slide deck
then moved on to Elastic Beanstalk as an example of the components discussed previously (IAM, S3, ELB, EC2) with a demo and slide deck.
Good questions and discussions with the group at the end as well, I know a couple of people got fixes for their specific issues with EC2 and CloudFront out of the session.
