With a bunch of previous meetings already done at the local AbeBooks office and a few active JUG members working there I am pleased to announce that AbeBooks is becoming a regular meeting venue sponsor for VIJUG. This will allow us to host larger meetings as well as be in the more convenient location near downtown Victoria.
Thanks a lot for your past support and I look forward to many successful meeting in the future. First one up is already coming in September.

You just gotta love having a community of great developers in town. This time Eclipse guru Ian Bull will showcase the latest Eclipse release to us one day after the official release!
A seasoned programmer and modelling guru as well as a great speaker from past VIJUG meetings, Rafael will show us how close you can get to the holy grail of end to end integration of model and executable code nowadays. If you just follow the right practices and use the right tools. There will be lots of opportunity to learn and discuss.
After falling victim to the snow craze in February, we are now in a much better position to actually hold the meeting. Although still too cold in my opinion by the end of this month we will be hosting a VIJUG meeting about Android development. Android has seen tremendous growth in the last year and is by now the most widely used smartphone operating system world wide and set to move into the tablet space this year as well. And it is a lot of fun developing for it.. enough reason to want to learn more. Continue reading
